Our Herd

Our Classy Ladies

Well, some are more classy than others (looking at you Makena). We love all of our does whether they are sweet and gentle or the hell-on-wheels type. Please see a list of our girls below

Painted Pepper PZ Lunacy 1*M

  • Sire: Painted Pepper JS Pizzaz +B

Sire’s Sire: Painted Pepper PJ Jumpstart ++*B

Sire’s Dam: Painted Pepper RJ Spunky 1*M

  • Dam: Painted Pepper JJ Venus

Dam’s Sire: Old Mountain Farm Joshua James +*B
Dam’s Dam: Painted Pepper PS Gaia Too

    DOB: 6/01/2015

We call her Big Mama because I bought her bred and she was huge! She delivered quads that year and I retained her doeling and one of her bucks. She came in and quickly took over as herd queen. She’s our oldest and most experienced goat. She’s definitely a goat’s goat and tolerates us humans to get her things (like snacks and feed), other than that she’s happiest with her herd. She’s great on a milk stand and very good with other babies. She currently has grandkids on our farm and helps her daughter care for them. Mama is a good goat, but I think she will be retired this year.

Nigerian Dwarf Does

FeatherNScale Moon Pie

  • Sire: SG Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk +*B

Sire’s Sire: SG Old Mountain Farm Stag ++*B

Sire’s Dam: SG NC Promisedland Nemesis 2*M

  • Dam: Painted Pepper JJ Venus

Dam’s Sire: Old Mountain Farm Joshua James +*B
Dam’s Dam: Painted Pepper PS Gaia Too

    DOB: 5/01/2019

Moon Pie is amazing! I love everything about her. Which is good because she was very expensive, lol. She is by far my best milker. Her milk is so sweet and creamy and I have decided to retain at least 1 doeling from her line every breeding. Moonie is fairly passive and is content to graze her day away in the pasture. She only shows affection to our Big Mama, who tolerates her at best. Moonie’s daughter just delivered twins for us this year and Slyvi has been equally as impressive as her dam.

RedHorseValley TDB Briar Kay

  • Sire: RHV SCHR Thunderball

    Sire’s Sire: RHV CTO Schroeder

Sire’s Dam: SG Alethia CTO Moon Shadow 5*M

  • Dam: RHV SMF Pente

Dam’s Dam: Rosasharn SH Lady Eowyn 3*M

    DOB: 2/12/2020

Briar is my girl! I love this goat so much. She is the most mellow, gentle soul on the farm. I’m pretty sure I’m going to keep every doe she throws, she is that special to me.

RedHorseValley ML Astrid Liv

  • Sire: RedHorseValley RR Muskrat Love

Sire’s Sire: Poppy Patch Rollick ‘N’ Roll (LA 87)

Sire’s Dam: RHV CS Elven Magic (LA 87)

Dam’s Sire: DragonFly T Ashen Myst
Dam’s Dam: SG Agape Oaks M Golden Fire 3*M

    DOB: 3/17/2020

Astrid has consistently thrown very strong babies for us. She had twins her first freshening and then dropped a set of quads for us this year. I retained her first doeling last year and was absolutely in love with her buck, Ragnar. Unfortunately Ragnar had an accident and is no longer with us, but she threw a very handsome buck this year that we may retain. She will take a break from breeding this fall and will be back on schedule fall of 2023.

Swiftwind Indigo Star

  • Dam: Swiftwind TB Rosemary

Dam’s Sire: Wood Bridge Farm Tiberius
Dam’s Dam: Poppy Patch HB Penny Royal

    DOB: 5/7/2020

    Blue eyes

Indigo has just had her first litter this year. Her babies are so cute! All have blue eyes and share her facial markings, but in different colors. We waited to breed her due to her being a slow grower, but her first freshening udder was amazing. She had no problems delivering and raising triplets. Her milk quality was so good, I used her milk to help supplement another set of triplets. Not my friendliest goat, but her babies have turned out to be. She’s patient with other babies as well and will allow them to nurse off of her. And she’s great on the milk stand. I am so pleased with her.

My Luna, she’s pretty, she’s a bit honery and will never stand still long enough to let me take a more current picture, sigh. I still love her though. She’s expecting her first set of kids in September so stay tuned.

Our Herd Sires

I’m very happy with our selection of Herd Sires. We have very, very strong genetics behind these guys. Without these guys we wouldn’t have a herd. And, I’m excited to announce we just added a Flat Rocks silver buck and I can’t wait to see what he throws for us.

Nigerian Dwarf Bucks

American Jewell Bjorn Ironside (Polled)

  • Sire: Valley’s-Edge L.L. Bean

Sire’s Sire: Tiny Angels RNB Super Tramp

Sire’s Dam: CH Tiny Angels RNB Sassaneq

  • Dam: FeatherNScale Moon Pie

Dam’s Sire: SG Old Mountain Farm Bold Elk +*B

Dam’s Dam: Painted Pepper JJ Venus

    DOB: 4/27/21

Bjorn is my boy! He was born on my farm and I love everything about this guy! Handsome, long, level, deep bodied. He’s polled and blue-eyed out of a set of twins. His dam’s udder is really, really nice. She is my best and heaviest milker. I retained both Bjorn and his sister Sylvi. Bjorn has just thrown some really pretty babies for us. Waiting to see if any are polled. He’s impressive and I feel so lucky to have him.

Two Dogs Farm Here We Go Again

Dam’s Sire: Lost Valley MTE Killians Red *B
Dam’s Dam: Two Dogs Farm JJ Jane

    DOB: 5/17/2020

Hugo is a handsome buck. Long, level, wide, with a deep brisket. He throws exceptionally pretty babies. His first year he threw 4 does and 2 bucks. This year was reversed, we got 3 does and 6 bucks from his breedings.

Two Dogs Farm KSR Giza

  • Sire: Lost Valley MTE Killians Red*B

Sire’s Sire: Lost Valley ML Montrachet *B

Sire’s Dam: Lost Valley LG Just Sayin’ 2*M

  • Dam: Two Dogs Farm H Amelia

Dam’s Sire: Buffalo Clover Hades *B
Dam’s Dam: Two Dogs Farm Hermoine Granger

    DOB: 4/30/2020

Giza is so sweet. Seriously, one of my friendliest bucks. He’s a bit on the smaller side like his sire, but still makes breed standards. As he’s grown, his coat shows more of the red coloring vs brown, and the majority of his babies have red in their coats too. He throws some really handsome bucks and pretty does. He and Hugo are best buds and love to play in their pasture together.

Flat Rock’s Silver Hamish

  • Sire: Flat Rock’s I am Ironman

    Sire’s Sire: Flat Rock’s Valiant

Sire’s Dam: The 7 Fields Farm SilverRibbon

  • Dam: Flat Rock’s Galinda

    Dam’s Sire: Flat Rock’s Ember +*B
Dam’s Dam: AGS Flat Rocks Hannah

    DOB: 3/22/2020

I am so excited to finally have a Flat Rock’s buck on our farm. We got him from Apple Jo Farm and are awaiting our transfer. He’s everything that I hoped for when I was salivating over Flat Rock’s lines. Can’t wait to see what he brings to our lines.
